I wish vanilluxe's design was better. I actually like it overall but if it was just more obvious that it was a localized weather system instead of an ice cream cone with a localized weather system excuse then it would be so much better.

It's also a bad mimic even in-universe because Voltorb can't willingly shrink itself (else it'd learn Minimize, which it doesn't), so you have this foot tall ball just sitting there trying to pass off as a Poke Ball small enough to hold in an 11 year old's hand, and Electrode is even worse about this.

It actually works from an in-universe perspective, assuming we're talking about balls that are in patches of grass where you can only see the top. It's not too big that newbies would immediately go "hey wait a sec" in terms of average Foongus size, but it has that element of being able to realistically learn the tells and avoid them for a more experienced trainer.
Unfortunate that its mimicry never takes effect in gameplay for SV, since all the item balls are highlighted with a mini-beacon while Foongus just sticks out.

no its real problem is that its movepool is underwhelming i've used one in BW. you start off spamming icy wind and mirror shot. you end the game spamming ice beam and flash cannon and maybe acid armor if you think you can get away with it.
it's strong but in a really braindead way. you use it because you want an ice type but have no specific desires beyond that.
