>>58204459>So why did he sperg out and become total edgelord faggot again?Miscommunication. He idolized the myth of the ogre, seeing them as the unspoken outcast who doesn't fit in, like him. However, when it turned out Ogerpon was real he wasn't prepared to handle the reality of his idolized myth coming true. He tried to take a breather and prepare himself to interact with Ogerpon, but by that point Ogerpon became attached to the player, and her pollyanna attitude contrasted sharply with what Kieran thought she'd be like.
Not knowing what to do he challenged the player for custody of Ogerpon, then lost, and Ogerpon herself chose the player too. The triple whammy of his myth coming true but going to the popular, outgoing kid, he was right about the myth when nobody else believed him for years, and his asshole sister becoming better friends with the popular kid drove him off the edge and he became obsessed with power and defeating the player.
>Was it justified?Kinda sorta? The schism between the player and Kieran started when Carmine forced the player to not tell Kieran they met Ogerpon at the festival, despite both Carmine and the player knowing how much the ogre meant to Kieran. That betrayal of trust lead to the breakdown of their friendship, and Kieran turning the BB League into a tryhard no-fun-allowed competition, all so he could vent his bitter rage from everything that happened.
Kieran's the best rival because his rivalry isn't based on friendship, competition, or two assholes just being dicks to each other. For Kieran it's personal.
