Feeding Pokemon has been the one big thorn in my side when it comes to Pokemon world building. I know that the anime mandates keep the idea of Pokemon food kind of ambiguous, they all just eat the same universal dogfood block stuff, whatever. But realistically, having to keep Pokemon fed sounds like a fulltime job by itself.
It's why I imagine only people really serious about Pokemon training can raise a full team of 6, how expensive would it be to keep an entire team of big ass monsters fed EVERY day? How much time is spent getting their food?
And then you gotta think about specific Pokemon, like, a Dragon type, right? Those things HAVE to eat twice, three times as much as a normal Pokemon, right? Or really anything that's huge and hunts and has to burn a lot of energy flying, they must need so much.
And then we get to like, WHAT they eat. I'm sure in Poke-Earth's super society they can probably artificially create some kind of super food for a Pokemon's diet, but realistically you'd probably need to have a bunch of frozen, dead rodent or bug Pokemon imported to you for any predator mons, which means there'd need to be like, Rattata, Magikarp and Ledyba farms, which brings up the question of ethics too.
And that's just regular Pokemon, Aggron and TTar eat entire fucking mountains and/or rare and valuable minerals from the earth. How much money are you willing to spend to keep up with your Sableye's quite literally expensive taste? Shit, and what about GHOSTS? Those bitches near universally eat straight up life energy, who's putting that out? Do you think there's folks in Poke Earth who literally sell their soul to ghost trainers so their mons can have a good meal? Damn.
All I'm saying is, if I was a trainer, I'd keep my mons small and manageable, with herbivore diets if not outright just grass mons that only need some sunlight. Miss me with that team of psuedos and kaijumons, you better have a kaiju wallet to feed your fucking 700 pound rock monster, shithead.
