Yep, without a doubt. You don't just fuse a Pokemon with a human just so that human can throw a Poke Ball, you let us fight the human directly.
Fuck, you can still keep the Totem Boss-like aspect, just make it so she's passively sending out her party to protect her similar to SOS Calls while you're chipping her down, and if you really want to be a shitface about it, script it so that you can't fully KO her until her full party is downed.

I think it should've been a Totem fight. You fight her (Nihilego stats but 3-4x health and an omniboost) she could send out her previous Pokémon team as allies, similar to how Totems summon allies.

Yes, the battle itself is in some ways designed worse than a battle out of Red and Blue. She has the lowest ai setting in this fight, so the moves she selects are random. Doesn’t even know to go after super effective hits or damage moves. This is compounded by the fact that they gave her entire team pain split (the only added move to her team since the prior fight). She will potentially actually heal you with pain split, and she’ll potentially also use over and over even when it’ll do nothing. Some of the totem boosts are nonsensical too like milotic getting an attack boost for flail. To top it all off, bewear, allegedly her ace, can’t even hit ghost types. Doesn’t even use nihilego either.
