If they wanted it to be a genderbender, they'd have presented it a genderbender, like Purrlion. But they played Delphox as straight female and also Ninetales (due to the Kitsune bride trope being more pervasive than gay foxes, considering Japan's historical outlook on wrong people).
Then we get to Game Freak's own sef-censure on gay recognition, due to western gays being UNABLE to see gays in media as anything but acceptance, in stark contrast to gays in Japan being accepted as part of the fictional presentation. You lost cocksucker.
