I've been thinking about the famous Yajima interview recently, and have always noticed that it was never actually translated in full, which is unfortunate, though understandable since the article is over 30 pages long. The portion about the kissu was (when it wasn't summarized instead), though I've never been sure how accurate those translations are, since they often tend to vary in force. After some digging, I found the actual Japanese text so anons can judge for themselves:
>小黒: 最終回を観ていないので、頓珍漢な質問になってしまうかもしれませんが、セレナの恋は成就したりはしませんよね。
>矢嶋: 成就はしませんね。将来そうなればいいかなぐらいに留めました。
The standard English translation I've seen referenced over the years, sourced from a Serebii poster back in 2016 from when the interview first came out, reads:
>Q: I didn't watch the final episode, so this might be a dumb question, but what happened to Serena's love, did she and Satoshi become a couple in the end?
>A: They didn't, but I ended it in a way that makes you think they probably will become one in the future.
Another translation, done later by someone else, is a bit more overt, reading (with some typographic corrections bracketed):
>Q: I didn't watch the last episode, so this might be a dumb question, but what happened to Serena's love, did she and [Satsohi] become a couple in the end?
>A: They didn't become a couple in the episode itself, but the way I ended it is meant to [be understood] that they’re going to become one later.
I've seen this interview answer used to mean everything from Yajima declaring it to be presupposed future canon (i.e., "I couldn't show it happen in the episode, but you are safe to assume this is post-series endgame") to "haha it might happen but maybe not idk haha." Thought it'd be interesting, since nobody ever talks about the actual Japanese.
