Dexcut is a good idea in theory if it meant more personalization for the pokemon that were present (unique abilities, new animations, new models, signature moves, etc)

But gamefreak is retarded. We got new models for a few select kanto shillmons only (and persian for some resson) and the animations are still bland

It unironically always goes back to gen 2. GS inherently promised full backwards compatibility for the dex and backtracking to past regions. You can't consistently fulfill those expectations without either sacrificing quality or removing content altogether. I have no sympathy for their lack of forward thinking.

If Gen II was designed to flop I wish it did so we didn't have a dogshit ass franchise that only existed to boost Masuda's ego and the games could've fuckin died as Doujin games like they were intended. But no people bought GS, RS, DP, etc. anyway

If you get to the point where that happens you are just making a different game instead of dexcutting.

I'd find it stomachable if we were back to DS era amount of content. Balancing something like the Battle Factory or Hall would be impossible with all the Pokémon now but we don't get even the Tower anymore.

Because making full 3D interiors for such an effort requires time and manhours Game Freak don't want to spend on the return they'd get (ie a thousand truly autistic dregs of humanity adults caring about it and fuck all else because the mass-market NEVER gave two monkey fucks for that kind of "content" which was only added as a concession to the burgeoning VGC interest and ended when Game Freak were able to connect players to each other directly over Wi-Fi in Gen 6, strangely the era where they moved to producing full 3D environments.

Nah. They sure could do a "everyone's here", but why would they do that when they can half-ass their new games with a mix of 70-100 new mons with a few old mons mixed and sell for 60-80 bucks and then bring back a few hundred or two back with DLC sold as premium.
