This mega is so forgettable. It has the most broken stats with 190 Attack (The highest of every mon), 154 Sp.Attack, 130 Speed, 100 Defenses, infinity movepool AND when you use is just so weak. Very weird Mega. Steadfast is so mid. I thing Guts would be better or Moxie.

What is this? Dialga and Palkia the deities of time and space in front all of thing, just nothing. They have Pressure and Telepathy. Origin forms in the generation of Zacian and Calyrex Shadow? They don't have a signature ability and they can't use Specs, Leftovers or any good typing. What a mess.

Masuda’s word is that they aren’t even that, and their ability to distort timespace is basically just tied to their sig moves, which is probably why they’re underwhelming.

Dialga and Palkia are kinda victims of circumstance.

The Weather Trio got it good by getting themselves attached to the "SUPER FORM!" Generation. Tower Birds didn't really get shit in HGSS either cause it predates gimmicks.

This is especially telling in VGC. When you look at that meta and its rules, you kind of understand that Rayquaza needed to be able to hold an item to be worth considering, as it consumes a both a restricted slot and your mega slot. (It still ended up a comparatively “niche” pick next to Salamence, who has intimidate and a special spread move).

Arceus isn't a God because it exists in the same continuity where the real gods, GameFreak, regularly self-insert themselves so they can blab to the player about how they created the world they're playing right now.
...Is what I would say if GameFreak NPCs made continued appearances after LGPE, but they conveniently disappeared just in time for PLA to hype up Arceus as the creator of all things.

I know Cynthia's dialogue in Platinum implies that Dialga and Palkia are just powerful Pokemon that the people of the past thought were gods because of things like Roar of Time and Spacial Rend. But I feel like if that was their intentions during gen 4 then they've leaned in the opposite direction with later games

The truth is that 190 Attack is the highest base, but it's really not that impressive on a mon that can't hold an item and doesn't get an ability that boosts damage.
Not by legendary standards, at least.

But even if GF intended for this to be the case back then they seem to have leaned more into them being gods later on.

A little earlier, she had even theorized that the three elves in the wall, weren't Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit. But rather Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, which is obviously false.

No he actually does believe that Giratina and the Distortion World are connected. His new goal since Giratina kidnapped him was to defeat it so that the Distortion World would be destroyed alongside the real world. Cynthia says they're lies, but Cyrus' dialogue when you first meet him in the Distortion World and after defeating Giratina shows him believing it. Cynthia is of course right about that not being the case, but her argument against it is strange and comes off as her not believing a Pokemon can have that kind of power. But for all I know she could've said something completely different in Japanese.
