I learn that you don't like Mega Feraligatr. Well the problem is not the Mega but Feraligatr itself. Feraligatr is at least for me a ugly design. I don't hate it, when I was kid was my one of favorite starters. So Mega Feraligatr has literally a body of original Feraligatr with more spikes plus the huge dragonic face in the face, basically no drastically changes.

The success of some old megas like the design of Mega Rayquaza is because Rayquaza HAS a good design and the GOOD design becomes even better when Megas. Has more rich elements, more complex, edgy concept and looks different in the good way.

Feraligatr is bad design, well mid, is not terrible and Mega Feraligatr becomes little better because it looks simple and more funny AND Gamefreak prefers the more goofy designs and less the cool ones.
