Cute, but fast and just strong enough to win fights. I will never forget bringing Pikachu through Misty and Lorelei.

It's ok looking as a mascot to entice both genders, male and female; but stat wise it's pretty shit. Having eggexutor or gyrados as a mascot might have creeped out a couple of girls tho.

Early Advantures Manga rendition is the only 'chu design i like. Nu-Pika is a body snatcher; not even the same species.
I havn't read the later manga series, so i dont know if the design changes at some point.

I think it was based on how the Gen3 sprite makes their tail look like it has a subtle notch. But yeah, Game Freak are stupid for not going with that and doing something drastic instead.

Great design. Don't care as much for modern baby-headed chu, but it's alright in its own unique way. Love Raichu as well. It's a good mascot for the franchise.
