So what is gonna be mega Malamar’s ability? All the hypnosis stuff is fun and all, but its main gimmick is supposed to be reversing things, which is why it gets contrary. Will its mega keep contrary or get something else? Are they really going for the hypno thing and giving it an ability related to hypnosis?

I have a feeling we will be getting a lot of new unique abilities for ZA megas despite old megas rarely getting one. Most the ZA megas are based around a specific theme or gimmick while old ones mostly just get edgier.

Evil type exists. Sure, not of them are evil by default but some like Hydreigon are. Any Pokemon that actively works with an evil team is evil. Giratina was exiled to the Distortion World and is implied to be the pokedevil. Mystery Dungeon has you fight evil Pokemon.
