>>58236463You're not old, you're just not retarded.
Anyone who could somehow look at what we used to have, then look at the constant stream of freemium slop we've had ever since Shuffle dropped with the odd smattering of something actually decent if we're lucky, it's just a fact.
As
>>58236472 says, we've literally only had maybe 3 or 4 good spin-offs and it's because they have actual effort put into them because they're not freemium dopamine gameplay loop garbage that subsist off of whales rather than actually having quality.
We used to get spin-offs of practically every kind of genre back in the day and, even if they weren't good, they at least fucking tried to do something fun and unique with the Pokemon IP.
Now? We get walking around IRL but with Pokemon, microtransactions and battle passes. TCG, but on your phone just like your favourite Gacha games yaaaay! Puzzle game but it ends up becoming largely automated and with gacha mechanics. Sleep IRL but even though I haven't played it lets face it Sleep is probably monetized to shit.
No more actually fun puzzle games, no more Mystery Dungeon, no more fighting games, no more Pikachu caretaking sims, no more racing games (even though the only attempt sucked and it should have been attempted again), no more story driven adventure games, no more offline TCG games because they can't be monetized. I'd even take a fucking Pokemon Rumble game at this point and I hated those.
