I played through this again just to see if my opinion would improve and no, it's just as bad as it was the first time around lol
I will give it this though, it generally looks better than SV as long as you're not in the wild areas. Not a high bar, but still.

Watching reviews etc of it now, Galar is definitely way up there in terms of aesthetics. The cities are very nice and I miss the black outlines.
