>>58247740I'll need to play the game to know.
Legends Arceus turned out to be my favourite pokemon game on Switch, but I had no idea that a lot of things I liked about it were in the game before playing it: sidequests focusing on particular pokemon and how people are warming up to them, the town growing and changing as the story progressed (I'm a sucker for that in any game) and the final encounter with the main villain was the best set piece in any pokemon game. It actually felt like a modern game (graphics aside).
The things I saw in the trailers like the traversal, alpha pokemon and the new battle system weren't that impressive to see in trailers, but felt great to actually play.
And last, but not least: the free-form pokeball throwing. I was actually impressed Game Freak of all devs actually managed to execute on the idea and make it so seamless and feel like second nature once you get used to it.
Legends Z-A trailers aren't that impressive, I have to admit, but I hope they are also hiding stuff similar to the ones I mentioned above. Like cool detective sidequests, parts of Lumiose changing to acomodate pokemon living there etc.
After Legends Arceus I have full confidence in the team.
