>>58248863It's definitely one of the cooler megas, sure. It's like Mewtwo asking itself "what if I also became the strongest martial artist on top of being the strongest psychic" in a bid to further empower itself (while mega mewtwo Y is the more straightforward question of "what if my psychic powers were even stronger"). But I think the best of the megas introduced during gen 6 are the primal reversions. There's something incredibly cool about the forces of nature that Kyogre and Groudon are being capable of even further empowering themselves through absorbing ambient natural energy. The classic "this isn't even my final form" asspull. Also kinda indirectly ties into the idea of the subsequent gen 4 legends being outright deities who are limiting their true powers by assuming physical pocket monster forms and being subdued by human trainers? I remember there being a whole schpiel about Cyrus not using Poke Balls to capture Dialga/Palkia because that would be suboptimal for his purposes. Anyway, just the idea that these creatures who are monstrous even by Pokemon standards can become that much more terrifying than how they appeared at first glance after waking up from a long slumber.
