why is it that flygonfags are by far the most vocal of any pokemon fans about not getting a mega? like seriously, what makes flygon so special that you feel so entitled to get a mega over the many, many other pokemon that don't have one? I don't get it. it's not a shillmon, or a pseudo, or really special in any way.

Because Mega Flygon was claimed to be planned but scrapped by Sugimori during a Nintendo Dream interview because they couldn't come up with any good designs.
Couple this with the new NPC who specifically uses a Flygon in ORAS who later gives you Garchompite, a Mega Stone for the superior Dragon/Ground Pokemon, and they've been pissy about Mega Flygon ever since.
Despite the fact the Teraleak reveals Mega Flygon was literally NEVER planned at any point EVER, meaning Sugimori made shit up on the spot to make the Nintendo Dream interview more interesting, so they grew even MORE of a complex from it.

You could say the same thing about some of the other Pokémon that got megas which aren't these things. What makes Flygon any different from them?

Anyways... It'd be cool if Flygon got a mega but I'm also not expecting anything.

Eevee's one and only shot of getting a new Eeveelution is in Gen 10, and that assumes Gen 10 brings us a brand new type.
Given what we know about their efforts to make a Flying Eevee in SM from the Teraleak that failed because every idea they came up with was too similar to a JP fan design, they've basically been forced into a corner where they can ONLY make Eevees out of brand new types, plus it would be massive for the new Eeveelution's longevity because it could be the poster child of that type, like how Sylveon continues to stand beside Eevee rather than behind it because it's the face of Fairy.

From what I remember, Flygonfagging came from statfagging. At first, Flygon was a decent pokemon. But, due to stat inflation over time, Flygon became a shitmon.
There have been attempts to address this for most remotely-popular mons, but Flygon, which is definitely in that group, has drawn the short straw every single time.
