It gets its own sidequest & little area in the base game and nothing more. Maybe it'll be a boss fight like the rouge megas but it won't get any new form.

It's actually impressive how forgettable this thing is.
It's a mythical, part of an exclusive club.
It got its own movie.
It's the first and only Fire/Water type so far, a unique typing that was sought after for years.
I even played OU in gens 6 and 8, and it was ranked OU there, meaning that it had enough usage that you'd have a 50/50 chance of seeing it after playing 20 games.
I must have fought it hundreds of times. I've even used it myself.
But somehow, every time I see it, it feels like the first time. It exits my memory the moment it's not right in my face.
When I close this thread, I'll probably forget it again.

In the time between making this post and now, I forgot about Volcanion again until I saw it on the catalog.
In the middle of writing this post, I got up to go to the bathroom, came back, and realized I somehow forgot Volcanion again.

volcanion is really, really, really boring. You're not alone. I'm 99% sure they threw it together right before release just to have the type combo. For some reason. Would explain why its design is so simplistic, too.

ever since gen 5 came out I wanted a fire/water salamander based on the diplocaulus that was a pseudo legendary so now I have both this ugly heatran 2.0 trash AND drakloak or whatever the fully evolved form is stepping on its toes. So annoying.
