He doomed the franchise to have expectations of repetitive games that coasted on being "comfy" and "safe" which is why the fans can't handle experimentation or longer wait times between installments that actually improve things properly. They didn't develop proper game dev skills, only how to shit out product which is why all of their non-Pokemon IPs always flop

All things considered, he's not the worst, he only got really disheartened after gen 5's reception that did a 180 and went in the other direction for XY. He wasn't good, really, he became more of a yes man before stepping down from directing, but Ohmori is much worse. No you moron he was ALWAYS a yesman. The only reason he took over for Tajiri was because he wanted Pokemon to continue being a big thing and the only reason he would often cut from his game was to make sure the games would always be out on time for Nintendo after Gen II. Every compromise the franchise has seen was one made by Masuda bowing to his Nintendo overlords for "more Pokemon" and the franchise became his when people bought RS anyways. It still is his as long as he's working at TPC pulling the strings
