>>58263980Not gonna happen, Ashninja carried the Ashnime and was the first time people had legit reasons to think Ash would win a league (given he actually fought the fucking champion well), people went crazy with it to the point the backslash from stealing the match made them let Ash win next gen, despite being a more light-hearted and comedic series this time around. Even if everyone likes Mega Greninja look and ends up being more useful than Ashninja was in gen 7 (complicated given it's a ranked reward, while Ashninja was a free demo gift) it's just not the same, the guy isn't even in the anime (and even it is later, it's not gonna be a main character like it was in gen 6)
They would need one hell of a campaign for Mega Greninja to reach Ash Greninja levels of popularity, and they clearly don't want that
