Because (and I can't stress this hard enough) the WHOLE Switch 2 game release cycle was pushed back because Nintendo wanted to delay launch to build stock reserves. And as L: Z-A ended up being intrinsically linked to S2, they similarly were delayed. Game was due last year and that's clear now, as they spent all of what would have been '24-'25 making the DLC. But they couldn't announce DLC for a game they hadn't properly revealed, nor could they in the middle of marketing lead-up either. They couldn't delay it further either (there was always a new Gen happening '26 regardless) so were left announcing it in their last possible chance - after the final trailer for the base game with a projected time of next year as delivery date (which I distrust, as I can see them releasing early as an anniversary bonus or some shit).

It wasn't in the game anon. Game Freak aren't bioware, they don't cut story to sell. They do write extra story to give a point to buying DLC though and that's something Sugimori's gone on record to say in 2014 they'd consider in the future.

This shit wasn't cut, it was intended to be developed after the bulk of the main game, to then be released in the "fallow" year of 2025 (I should have realised there's going to be no gap years any longer, why outright harm your margin, when a cheap side story addition will bulk sales numbers. Sadly Nintendo couldn't keep their end the development agreement) after the main game's 2024 release along with the Switch 2.

Sorry dextard, that's not how this shit works in the slightest. Releasing last year would actively harm what Nintendo wanted to do with the game, by using Pokémon to sell Switch 2 uptake, BEFORE getting to Gen 10 and the povvo-friendly version that's ABSOLUTELY incoming, just as all core pokémon game releases on new Nintendo hardware wound up having a kid-friendly, cheaper revision model to sell alongside it. So they had to keep the game back. Doesn't mean they had to stop working, or do something they said was never going to be a thing again, due to how the real world works.

This is what I wanted to say with that post. They're holding off the DLC so players can take time playing the game instead being spoiled about DLC content. Also, the costumes are not pre-order bonuses. They're an integral part of the DLC and likely put there because policy/legal reasons (they would be selling a DLC with no content otherwise). The pre-orders already started and the DLC is officially scheduled to release alongside the game, even though the DLC will be only about two costumes then. The Galarian Slowpoke was part of the 1.1 Update of SwSh and not specifically part of the DLC (even if exists to hint on the DLC), not really the same deal here.

Speaking of something stupid, the assumption that our mystery complete build is actually complete is insanely nebulous. Its based on one guys description of it.
Sword also had pretty feature complete builds a few years before; doesn't mean at fucking all they were final though. A lot of games can hit a feature complete state and then be sent back into the grinder.
We've also seen statements that imply ZA has seen much more drastic changes than a lot of the year before builds we got in the teraleak. Pokemon design level changes.

It also quite clearly didn't exist last year, because that's how Game Freak operate - staggered devcycles, so there's always a new game in the height of development, while they're readying release of a new one or content addition. The Switch 2 WAS planned for launch last year, until Nintendo delayed it late, so yeah they DID in fact have to launch it for '24, because that's when Nintendo WANTED it for release (as part of their intended Switch 2 launch year). I'm sorry game development as part of console development confuses the everliving fuck out of you, but I'm not your special ed teacher, much less one in general, so I ain't going to dogwalk you through it again.

This is like the most DLC sounding sounding DLC pokemon has. This shit is absolutely not built into the base game in an organic way, not that any pokemon game is really. They just have weird placeholder shit for DLC they can staple on.

The DLC is probably from an offshoot branch of the main team(pretty sure all the pokemon DLCs are largely), and wasn't allowed to be shifted when it was completed due to delays even if that did happen because thats an awful look internally "whoops we lost a whole release point".

I'm buying a gaming laptop lad, but waiting for a deal on something worth 2.2 or 2.3k for about 2k, which will be most likely during Black Friday or the january sales. But PC/Nintendo has been the optimum way to experience gamming generations, since games went multiplat and started appearing on both PC and console. Firstly, there’s an infinite version of the ZA Royale, no other details were given.

A new area around the Tower is unlocked after the main story, sort of a graveyard.

There will be an X and Y story revolving around the prism tower where you can catch Xerneas and Yveltal

Z story will have you fight Lysandre then Zygarde.

We know Mewtwo is also in so there’s probably something for that as well, that’s just what one of the leakers said so there’s definitely more. Either way, there is a post game..

One thing that made PLA so great is that it is a legitimate stand-alone game. You buy it and you get access to it all. No Pokemon locked behind version exclusives or trade evolutions or time gated events or extra purchases for cut content. You buy the game once and you actually get the games content.

This is exactly what I meant. Legendaries are the equivalent of ultimate weapons and usually are restricted in serious online setting. Clothes are cosmetics

Mega Evolution is half the point of this game and the ones restricted to this DLC and the NSO thing are a) a readily available Pokemon in many gens and b) previous starter Pokemon of the region that this game is repping and therefore a lot more common and likely to be part of your normal team
