Ashchu is probably the biggest missed opportunity in the entire Pokémon franchise in my opinion.
They could've made a spinoff series or animated shorts with him. Maybe he could actually talk to the Pokémon and learn how they feel.
It's literally Ash and a Pikachu combined into one; the marketing potential writes itself.
