>>58270541Crystal Palace Iguanadon is an example people bring up a lot and I think it kinda like, exemplifies a problem with the Gen 8 Fossils in that they're TOO chimeric. Like seriously if the Chimeric fossils were at least more inspired by historic examples it could've been really cool, or they were more heavily inspired by bad early interpretations of dinosaurs or something.
Either way, it would've been really nice to at LEAST get the true version of the fossils at some point. Maybe if we get a new region based on a another one of the really big insanely fossil-rich areas of the world (so like, western North America, Argentina, or Mongolia most notably) we'd have a chance to see them try something with the concept that's a little more grounded, or at least a more fun/deep cut kinda reference in the design than just excessively chimeric fossils,
I know a lot of this is sheer autism since I know a lot of people do love these for being silly concepts and they hear about the chimeric thing and just go "WOW THATS SO COOL" but the idea of getting a chimeric fossil from genera that existed with a 300 million year gap between them kinda kills me
