Good of you. If there's one thing that bothers me about it and its pre-evos is that they constantly have to be portrayed with their respective objects like they're an integral part of their body (which would be absurdly retarded). Otherwise, I don't feel particularly anything about them, positive or negative.

I think that's a valid peeve for Timburr and Gurdurr. Conkeldurr, though, not only seems to need the concrete pillars to support its upper body but also has Pokedex lore that justifies it. It's super smart and knows how to make concrete. Taught it to humans like a noble, blue collar Prometheus.

Also worth noting

In SV Conkeldurr has a cute sleeping animation. He holds on to one pillar while the other just stands straight up on the ground. It looks like an ingrained instinct to hold them.

A lot of creatures that are referred to as "monsters" in countless fictional settings are cute, cool, or beautiful. NTA, but why be mad when a monster is ugly? A lot of fictional monsters, especially yokais(which Pokemon takes alot of inspiration from), have been displayed as ugly or unsettling creatures. Sure, there can be cute, cool, or beautiful ones but pretending that intentionally ugly monsters can't exist is just weird to me.
