Not at all.
It was the first ever competitive RPG. Pokemon.
The first one was amazing in how deep it was, despite being the first of its kind. I see
the second one as more of an expansion for something like Magic the Gathering than a sequel .

I'm not sure what the difference is, so
I'm just using gold for now.
It's a bit slow, but
I'll keep trying until I get Pichu...

7-san, aren't you referring to the first ever human-versus-human RPG?
It was February 1996, but what about PC games?

If you're familiar with the premise of a Game Boy RPG,
you can play against each other in Wizardry Gaiden 3, released in 1993.
Form a party of four, move around a small labyrinth, and
kill the other party to win. It was a tense battle. It's
unclear whether it's compatible with PC or other platforms.
12 : Just to let you know: 1999/11/22(Mon) 05:32
"This isn't 2, it's "Gold and Silver,"
one of the producers said in a magazine.
It wasn't Tajiri-san.

I think it's a first in history to release two versions and create an environment where players can easily play against each other (and trade) .
For those who bought Gold and Silver,
what does Mr. Tajiri's section on staff in the manual say?

That was an eye-opening statement.
I see, gold and silver are just variations of blue and yellow.
What a clever escape.
I also bought Silver.
The content is just normal Pokemon, so I'm relieved.
(The complaints about the previous game, such as operability, have been resolved.)

It seems pointless to play Pokemon on a PC... It would
be awesome if you could play online though.
