Cyndaquil also gains nothing, it just loses its cuteness, more and more they make mons that are better off not evolving because they turn into ugly faggots. Blastoise gets cannons, Bulbasaur grows its flower in a way that makes sense, charizard gets wings, the gen 2 starters gain nothing, they all look relatively the same.
Gen 3 mudkip gains ground and looks cool, torchic gains fighting and looks cool, sceptile gets gypped, his only redeeming quality is its head shape being very “Pokémon” themed, it’s tail also looks unwieldy, and once again we lose the leaf on head for leaf blade attacks.
