Guess it really depends on what moves and stat spread you'd give it.
Alolan Muk, Skuntank, Drapion, and Overqwil all have similar stat spreads
And Mightyena is already built very similarly.

I remember him posting a pic with all his fakemon, including a damselfly fakemon or something. The first stage looks exactly like the baby form of Yanma in that pic, like, borderline traced.

Not that anon, but now that you mention it being a Spheal line lookalike, I appreciate it more. It losing the appeal may be due to the chickenscratch art quality.
If drawn by an artist that can mimic the official Pokemon artstyle well, I'm sure it'd look a lot more appealing.

Does anyone have any art from "pokedex_architect" saved? This is the only piece I have saved. Looks like the artist took down their Instagram.
Which sucks, because they had a lot of great designs. Was wanting to find the pre-evos to this line, but anything that can be recovered would be great.

The kino way to do this is to have each weather and terrain combination to create a unique, dual-typed form. For example electric terrain and sunny weather makes a fire/electric type. Also weather ball (or maybe a new move) would combine both typings into one move, like flying press. That means you would need 25 castform forms. Maybe a regional variant could be made for terrains and then when they are in battle together something special happens?
