I mean, at this stage they're selling roughly a GBA new Gen pair each mid-Gen release on Switch (LGPE, BDSP and L: A all hit 15m, RS sold 16.22m) and L: Z-A is not a dedicated S2 release to crimp overall sales. It won't fail as long as they continue to put the Pokemon logo on the box.
It'll sell an extremely easy 15 million copies, bolster the Switch 2's installbase, and get people cozy with the Switch 2 just in time to give their positive feedback for others to buy a Switch 2 once Gen 10 is announced in February next year.

You do understand they'll most likely launch a Switch 2 lite in 2026, just before Gen 10? I mean, EVERY new Gen after a system jump was accompanied by a smaller form hardware revision along the way? GBA SP, DS Lite, 2DS, Switch Lite. And assuming Switch 2 was ready to go last year, '24 to '26 leaves two years, equal to the timeframe every other past hardware revision launched, to support Pokémon's debut on the new system. L: Z-A's technically a Switch game (though clearly developed favouring S2), which means technically Gen 10 will be series debut, just as Gen 8 was its technical debut on Switch (despite LGPE arriving in 2017, but as part of the end of Gen 7), meaning more chance a smaller-from S2 model launches to get consoles into kid hands.

The only expectation I had this from shitty ass looking game was that I maybe could pirate it and have fun with the action RPG aspect making my Pokémon run around attacking and dodging. Turns out my expectations were still too high, the only thing that has a dodge button is the player character, the Pokémon just autododges or something. This garbage doesn't even look like it's worth pirating.

I just want to know how it performs on the Switch 1. Doesn't matter how buttery smooth it is on Switch 2 because I won't be buying that overpriced monstrosity until I have to. I've heard some bad rumblings though, so I've just got my fingers crossed it's still playable

1. It’s overpriced. You need to spend $100 plus more for Nintendo online to get the complete experience.
2. It looks like shit. The art style is ugly and there are copy-pasted textures on the buildings.

The game itself looks good for a 3d pokemon game. The reintroduction of megas is awesome. We finally get mega-meganium. They're experimenting with non-turn based combat for like the third time ever, and the first two in conquest and legends were based as fuck.
But it will run like ass on the switch and will only offer a satisfying experience if you drop half a grand.
