Yeah no kidding its low stakes. There's YouTubers who've beaten the elite 4 with an under leveled slaking by abusing battle items.

You dont play pokemon for feeling like you've accomplished some great achievement. You play it to have fun and pass the time. If you want to play with your own self imposed rules then good for you but there's no right or wrong way to go about it.

You know speaking of why is "you can only catch one mon per route" a necessity for Nuzlockes? I'm sure having a fifth Rattata in your box doesn't really add much to the game's difficulty when fainting is already such a massive issue for play. It just seems like a rule that makes the game more tedious than difficult and needs other rules like "you can't level over the next boss fight" to even justify being stuck with like 5 shitmons and your starter

It's more to make you use Pokemon you otherwise wouldn't use and get attached to them. You know, before some faggot led everyone to start metagaming everything and sucking all the fun out of nuzlockes to turn it into overglorified boss rushes where you can easily have teams to counter every boss since you don't need to worry about investment

Because what's the challenge if not limited on pokemon? If I can constantly catch new Magikarp, what's the risk of dying? Although to be fair duplicates clause is a common rule to avoid the "5 rattatas" problem
