>>58328709>>58328740Iris was never the problem in BW. She had a strong personality, and that was fine. It adds variety to the cast. The problem was Ash, who was poorly written that season, behaving worse than a rookie and rarely having the balls to confront Iris.
Just by comparison, see how well they complement each other in Journey, where Ash is the one who changes. Iris maintains her strong personality, but now they treat each other as equals. This is what BW should have been.
My only real complaint with Iris in Best Wishes is that they didn't take advantage of her design—a dark-skinned girl with extra-long purple hair—to give her different outfits and hairstyles. She was perfect for experimenting with exotic and cosmopolitan fashion.
And not a single episode with her hair down, what a waste!
