azumarill
rollout might sound like a meme move but you can absolutely break basically any of the early generations with a bulkymon like azumarill and a bunch of X items
recently did an emerald run where i begrudgingly decided to use huge power marill as my surfer and he wound up carrying the whole game
even underleveled, he was able to take a lot of hits and set up on the e4
>x accuracy
>x speed
>full restore
>x attack
>x attack
>proceed to rollout everything to death
this works on basically every fight in the game

anyways I love azumarill now

You've got a lot of very good options, especially if you can get your hands on a water stone. Quagsire is very popular by virtue of being an early game water/ground. Slowbro is a psychic type with slack off late game. Lanturn is a decent alternative to Starmie if you don't want to grind out a water stone.

If you can obtain a water stone, then all of the stone evolutions are good. Vaporeon hits the hardest of any of the water types on the special side and learns an ice move by level up. Poliwrath has sleep and combos well with focus punch while offering insurance if blizzard misses. Cloyster is a physical tank that can make use of its good attack stat with skill link icicle spear. Starmie is a coverage god with blizzard and thunder TMs.

yeah, thats kind of true, but azumarill was way more effective this way than I thought he'd be
most pokemon are just kind of meh with X item setups, but something about azumarills combination of typing and stats just really seemed to work wonders for me

Slowking almost breaks the game open getting those stats as soon as slowpoke well. Too bad it's so, well, slow, which keeps it from being a total bomb, but Slowking is one of my favorite pokemon ever
