It's not bad, but to my knowledge, he's only known them for a few days at most. Again, I did not find his to be some major deal breaker or something like that. I just found it a little bit hard to believe that meowth cares that much already. (True, he was never shown as apathetic or careless. And the void did show his inner turmoils. Still I don't know, kinda wished I saw more of it before the fight, though we'll probably see more next chapter,)
Honestly I also see this with In Mine Own, like I know Pokemon can many amazing things even when they are younger and inexperienced, but I found juuust a little hard to believe that the MC and their Pokemon just join in the raid, like bro, they've been in so little fights compared to the villains, why hasn't there been some elite strike force formed to hunt down a dangerous enemy? By chap 4 it's known the baddies got Legendaries or myhtical or whatever and a bulbasaur and a squirtle who are essentially starters just go? And everyone is just fine with this?
Again, these are not big negative things, I do love these fics, just found those small things a bit confusing.
