I've never had anything against Ash but it was definitely annoying how they seemed to "reset" him every generation, gen 5 being an especially bad example. In some resets he seemed like a completely different character only sharing the same name and physical appearance, and even then the artstyle changed a lot after gen 6.
Liko has more of an excuse to be stupid and make mistakes than Ash whose Pikachu should've been like level 9000 (hyperbole if I need to state the obvious) yet is losing to basic Pokemon. I hope in the future they don't do the same with Liko.
