Anime changes all the characters, it doesn't really count. The big change is just SM and USUM.

I hate this shit, USUM is way better. Not that I give a shit about Lusamine either way, but this whole "fusion" thing, only to have a normal ass Pokemon battle is so much lamer than a super powerful 1 mon battle that can wipe out most pokes easily. Them going in the direction one big super boss Pokemon has been on of modern Pokemon best choices after the flustercluck that is base Sun/Moon's Lusamine "2 edgy 4 me" "boss" battle. Feels like anyone who likes this Lusamine in base SuMo really must have liked Linkin Park.
