- Only catch the first Pokémon you find in an area.
- box or release any Pokémon that faint
- must nickname Pokémon for extra attachment
- level caps set at next gym's highest Pokémon. If a Pokémon surpasses the cap, it must he boxed until the cap is raised. If it surpasses the cap mid battle you can still use it. If it happens during the Elite 4 in a game where you fight them in any order, try to minimize use.
- no duplicates unless it's a branched evo or you had one that died earlier
- allowed to catch a shiny if it's not your first encounter of a particular area. You are not allowed to intentionally shiny hunt.
- no items such as potions or full heals in battle.
A couple of optiomal rules include
- no 'once per battle gimmicks' (Megas, Z-moves etc.)
- BST caps, like 'no BSTs above 500'
- Type or themes.
