I'm still curious about why they decided not to let us fight her directly. Like did they not want to let players use their Pokemon to directly attack another human, or was it some stupid programming shit like them forgetting how to add in battleable entities that don't appear in the Pokedex.

It wasn’t really a theory, it was blatant visual similarities that ended up meaning nothing because GF can’t write for shit.

These are obviously intentional to anyone with eyes and yet they went absolutely fucking nowhere. There is no reason to set something up like that and then abandon it. It’s infuriating how poorly thought out that was.

Actually it was canon, just the other way around: Lusamine dressed lillie up to look like nihilego, and herself like pheromosa. I think guzma wasn't intended to look like xurkitree though, but he WAS a giant simp for her so she might have made him look like that anyway, whatever.

I 100% believe that between gens 5 and beyond they kept trying to make an 'alien pokemon disguise as humans' plot happen but they kept abandoning it. You got that alien looking chick from XY who 'just wants to be a pokemon that's why she looks weird'. Then you got 'a bunch of people just look very similar to the alien pokemon showing up as a coincidence, her mom dressed her based off the alien', and then we got Macro 'Cosmos' and Rose's stupid plan that feels like they just scrambled to come up with a different reason for the ancient space dragon to wake up after their original plan fell through.
