In Xenoblade you can't access buildings, because it's a massive open world game with tons of content and side quests.
In GTA you can access buildings because the whole game is located in one city and it's filled with tons of content and side quests
In Pokemon SV you can't access buldings because the game is open world and it doesn't have content or side quests
In Pokemon ZA you can't access buldings because the whole game is located in one city and it doesn't seem to have much content or side quests
You'll buy it anyway.

Saffron and Celadon are the only egregious ones, apart from that most buildings in RBY are accessible. In the original thread someone worked it out that it was like 90 out of 130 buildings are accessible, which is most of them.

Shit like this is why I found the first main trailer of this game so funny for reasons no normal person would understand... that and the fact you can see modern flat screens hanging above you.

Like try explaining to someone why seeing modern technology and it being inside a building is funny as frame 1 of the reveal who didn't spend an entire year of "the game takes place in the past" plus years of morons complaining about how s/v only having like 30 buildings you can go into.

Not every, but there's literally nothing wrong with maximizing the buildings you can enter.
Also, Fallout 4 does let you enter almost every building, and the few times you can't, you're deep in the city and it wouldn't be performant to let you do it.

There's no point in making every building enterable if 90% of them have nothing of note inside. This is the exact same reason why a lot of people don't like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Most of it is just empty space.
