i'd say it's a perfect 10/10 and i say that as someone who has hated every single pokemon game since let's go
it's fun, the change in battle style makes the game so much more engaging
now i'll just wait for a good emulator version that can play the game with minimal visual glitches, and pkhex

legends arceus was one of my fav pokemon games, this one is as good if not slightly better, just a shame there doesnt seem to be any flying/less movement options

like i said, it's engaging instead of hitting a button and waiting for the same boring text play over the screen
now you actually get to enjoy battles, plus it's not as easy as it looks
getting good with the move timings will take practice

Although holy fuck get me OUT of this tutorial. They make you pass by a cluster of shops and you're not allowed to go check them out because player you have to go do story first!! Though I've also stalled for like 30 minutes because I wanted a male espurr but only two spawn at a time and they seem to be on a set respawn timer, the catch rate isn't high and they run away and disappear IMMEDIATELY. You have to be ON that shit

im playing on release switch and it runs fine, some of the cutscenes/scenery looks a bit jank at the lower resolution and the frame rate sometimes stutters for half a second when entering a new zone/ something big loads but not bothering me too much

the fucking tutorial is horrendous though, like a solid hour + of being led around

thankfully just got to the detective agency and got some sidequests and seem to be free to roam around now

LOL. my local store actually leaked the game yesterday and ive played maybe 6 hours? so it's not that i disagree per se the game is clearly fantastic and 10/10 but come on guys, get a bit further in before making a claim like this. and its clearly not for everyone anyway. if you have a shred of taste or self respect you might not like it

Fuck man. I know this is a completely new gameplay loop as far as Pokémon goes so they have to teach even the dumbest child how shit works, but at least add an "skip tutorial" option for the non-braindeads.

Theres many issues. The camera. It doesnt automatically fix itself constantly so you have to constantly press the button that does it. You have to aim at something to attack it so you have to always hold down ZL and you dont get to choose what youre aiming at so it might accidentally have u aiming at rocks or something other than what you want to attack. Dodging with your pokemon is basically impossible since you dont control them so its basically like a real time turn based game where you just pick moves. You moving around in battle is pointless.

I tried multiple versions of Eden, Yuzu, Citron, Ryubing, latest keys on 20.5.0 and 19.1.0 with day1 patch and without - but it either freezes and crashes at Dartiri or i get some weird shader glitches that make it impossible to play. I dont understand how this shit can be even more broken than any pokemon game before

The battle system feels a little off on keyboard though that's just me partly not remembering the controls well. Tying the moves to the buttons feels kinda weird for Pokemon, but I'm sure it just needs getting used to.
