I was down on Feraligatr but unironically like it quite a bit after seeing it in motion
I already thought Meganium was "fine", what you see is what you get
Basing opinions of ANYTHING off of a blurry screenshot taken from a distance is retarded so I held my opinion for a clearer look at Emboar. Now that we have one I think it's a good Mega-it doesn't shift my opinion on Emboar itself at all but it looks like something Emboar fans would like.

My opinion hasn't changed, Mega Meganium is cute and the other two are ugly as shit. Diaper pig line is still awful. Bobblehead M-Feraligatr is clearly made to sell toys I don't want or need.

I never thought Meganium was bad, it's not amazing but it's fine. I like Emboar's. Feraligatr looks better in motion but is a bit awkward still.

Emboar's maybe, it fits the traditional mega-evo bill. The bacon-staff is my favorite bit.
Meganium will always be fucking goofy but at least in a cute way, the flower-stack's a sorta interesting alternative to Venusaur's "flower but bigger".
We're not gonna even talk about Toiletgatr being a legitimate dev-joke.

I like Meganium, but they'd have to be going out of their way to fuck up flower dino mon. Emboar is fine, if a bit meh. Feraligatr is disappointing. Like they went out of the way to avoid making it, "cool' so they went funny and still boring all the same.

I mean, it's a grass type. They tend to all be pretty straight-forward design wise. Even if it turned out mediocre, I can't imagine it being that much worse than Meganium usual design.

emboar and feraligatr's megas are as bad or worse than I feared. I really don't know how emboar's mega ended up looking like trash. It was too easy to make something passable.
Meganium's is a bit boring but completely fine.

This is the main thing bothering me about Feraligatr. The jaw part is barely even prominent since it's just it's arms closed together. Mega Garchomp has more focus on it's jaw when it mega-evolves than Feraligatr does.

It happened to me in previous generations with designs that looked wacky, but not with everything. I still think mega slowbro looks stupid. Mega feraligatr is dumb, but at least it forms a giant totodile head and not a random dragon skull. Mega skarm, victreebel, and starmie are also dumb. People preemptively throwing out "sillymons" reasoning also sounds fake. That said, most of the new megas are fine. Mega excadrill did what feraligatr attempted.

The red skull should've been a proper Cubone-esque extension of his head and added to a tougher design while still having a semblance of the "silly" smile on his real head, like a juxtaposition of two natures between armored and exposed mode. I'm not against the idea itself or even nodding back to Totodile in some way, GF just chose the laziest "lol big Totodile" meme approach possible that adds nothing but a giant toilet lid, motion included.
