A reminder: Going by this timeline, Project Ringo wasn’t scheduled to start development until late 2024; and Project Seed wasn’t going to begin dev until 2026, since the teraleak happened sroudn this time last year, it’s possible both Ringo and Seed got cancelled because of the leak especially if they didn’t actually start dev yet
Seed in particular is heavily at risk because if we go by this schedule, it hasn’t even started dev yet right now so it could easily get cancelled now that it’s been leaked

Why would some minor info leaking result in them outright canceling anything? There's been dozens of game company leaks besides Game Freak and they've all just kept going as planned. Not ever title in that graph is a game coming from Gamefreak exclusively. Megaoasis is Pokopia, which is being developed by the DQ Builders team in collaboration with Game Freak, Synapse is Champions which is being developed by TPC & ILCA. For all we know, Ringo and Seed might also be collaborative efforts between multiple studios as well. All we have here is just a timeline and project names.

A few things of note:

How likely is it that Seed is already cancelled and we just don’t know? The leaks were last year, GF must have known that info about Seed would’ve been in the leak, and Seed wasn’t scheduled to begin development until the start of 2026 going by that pic, I’m afraid that us knowing about Seed now just killed it for good

BDSP and LA were only released so close to each other because they were both set in the same region.

The best shot for BW remakes is at the end of 2027, because the WW DLC seems to be planned for early that year, and Legends Galar seems to be planned for 2028. So late 2027 is still open for a new game release.

SwSh had a sunset aesthetic, PLA was brush style, SV was "gel" style, ZA seems to use a luminous/particle heavy style .

Realistic, in this context, is less about next-gen "hire this man!" shit, and more about unifying the look and feel of regions. LGPE had a bit of this, in terms of environment and lighting. I assume they're aiming for that feel, but without the toylike chibi characters or the GameBoy grid world.

I mean, we literally just learned today that Pokemon Legends Ho-oh and Lucia were planned and entered the proposal and concept art phase but are obviously canned right now; if Seed was or is still in that phase (dev supposed to begin in 2026), I think Seed’s in danger
Ringo (Legends Galar) was already at a stage with prototypes by the time of the teraleak last year going by the documents, so I don’t think that will be cancelled

Yes but I suspect that the ZA we got is more or less the same game Legends: Johto would have been anyway. They just swapped out the setting to modern day instead of isekai-ing to the past again.
And I doubt they could swap out whatever they conceptualized for "Japan: the Pokemon region" with another place so they'll probably stick with it, not to mention nothing was leaked about potential gameplay

Because it was leaked by the people Nintendo was partnering with and they decided they couldn't be trusted with their IP. Not because an independent hacker learned about the film through datamining. Its very rare games get cancelled just because they're leaked. The only example I can think of is Insomniac claiming Spider-Man 2 DLC was canned because of the leak but I think we all know the real reason is that the game itself was not received well and the hack gave them a good excuse to cancel it.

Switch 2, as a finalized product was originally 2024. It was held back to better align with software, and help them build a stockpile of inventory.

Switch 2 development overlaps with Switch pro development, circa 2021. A lot of the free Switch 2 patches were likely build on 2021 era Pro upgrades. SV had one of these, Capcom build several, Monolith probably built XC3 on those kits, and that clip they posted last month of XC2 was likely derived from a Pro-era build, or a S2 build that started as a Pro build.
