Hell, I've got a Switch Lite with Sword and PLA on it within arm's reach and I still have no drive to boot either game (except maybe PLA. I dunno.)
The dex cut was probably the "fuck no" moment for me.
Moving to a "real" console was supposed to make the games bigger, more complex, wider, deeper, give us real animations, etc., but SwSh came out and instead we LOST Pokemon for the first time since, what, BW1? And we lost a lot of them too.
>lost a bunch of moves>lost Refresh(/Amie) for a vastly worse system>lost the ability to turn off EXP Share>lost half the options menu behind a "secret" NPC for some reason>the overall graphical fidelity got WORSE than a 3DS game somehow>the plot was one of the worst of the franchise>the gen's gimmick was stupid>the "evil team" is probably the worst of the franchise>the Wild Area was a dumb gimmick meant to pad out an F-tier map>the prices went up AND it got "real" DLCs (meaning the "third version" now costs $100)Bonus: literally all my favorite Pokemon were cut, it's like TPC intentionally decided to gut me specifically. They brought back a couple in the DLCs though.
;_;What did the move to Switch even give us? Smoother online... I guess? Higher screen res and the ability to play on a TV?
