do they actually intentionally pick the worst option that is available to them every time now? It really seems like every single interesting or even passable decision they make, those rarities, are their "mistakes" and they would otherwise intentionally sink the ship if they could.
They don't even have the crippling pattern autism, or tons of execs from nintendo and tpci breathing down their necks, or anything like that that would otherwise explain their behavior. They literally just all have complete shit taste. Imagine having the reins of the single largest franchise in the world and getting to make whatever you want and just making... well, everything they've made for at least the better part of a decade.
