>>58406784>screenshots of game in alpha not looking like final build shockerHate to piss on your cornflakes, but gwaffixnigs were praising Game Freak's initial in-engine building textures from the leaks yesterday. I'm not saying they'll suddenly give a fuck and sell a pc alongside the next game to run it on to display the full breadth of the visible light spectrum for bleeding edge fidelity but they do have something stronger than a potato and 10 years developing for the basic framework (Switch 2 is basically a Switch but gruntier and redesigned taking the lessons from S1 on board eg magnets instead of rails), so are going to improve. Problem is you grew up in an era where everyone else had gone that route far earlier as a need, so have entirely unrealistic expectations. As well as comparing a children's game that's cornered the market of its demo to the point every other moncap game aims older, to get the grow-outs and cast-offs rather than compete directly in its market to games that are part of a far larger and far more competitive market that need to fight, kick and cut a bitch for every cent earned through sales (thus need to present themselves accordingly, or justify why they're off-edge graphics by slapping a "retro" or "throwback" label on it to avoid the hard truth of "it was cheaper to produce than one in full 3D).
