Nope, the pokeworld is a corrupt dystopia where megacorpos can do whatever they want and risk an apocalypse every five years.

You'd wonder how Team Flare could freely work on reactivating an ancient nuke railgun without any form of governing body intervening. Not even an reaction from neighbouring countries or regions, (like Galar or Paldea). Five years later, and people only complain about Team Flare being "lousy".

Try that in our world, and the moment your small country starts hoarding enriched uranium, you give any other world power an excuse to invade your turf "for safety reasons".

That was the period that had the least accountability tho. Giovanni just fucks off, I don't think the GSC/HGSS are ever stated to have been arrested. The Aqua and Magma guys also get away with everything, and this is when legendaries started to have God-like, earth destroying power so tbe severity of their crimes is also bigger. The only "comeuppance" Cyrus gets is self-influcted, and even, it's not out of guilt but because staying in the distortion world is useful for his plan in the long term. Only Charon gets arrested on screen, and I'm pretty sure the entire reason Looker exists is cuz Gamefreak figured they should probably show the police actually trying to do something about the regional evil teams.

Nope, the international police always sucked. Looker’s debut involved Saturn setting off a bomb, having his men attempt to set off another bomb at a highly populated tourist destination, and torturing the legendaries that gave mankind thought, spirit, and emotions. He’s then forgiven for saying sorry and is free to still lead team Galactic. They had to invent a character for him to arrest. Charon didn’t even participate in the terrorism or anything involving the main game legendaries. Just exists so Looker can do something resembling competence in the postgame by arresting him for touching a rock.

It's kind of like Harry Potter. A human with a single Pokemon is effectively a demi-god powerwise compared to an unarmed human. A Pikachu could zap an entire room of people into paralysis. A Charmander could kill an entire room of people with fire. A Bulbasaur has a literal machine gun with Bullet Seed. We can't even begin to understand how a world like that would deal with things like crime and punishments. What if you had an Abra ready to go to always teleport to you and then teleport you out of prison? Like, that alone opens up so many questions.

The answer is probably something to the effect of "no, unless you do something really bad in which case you're summarily killed." But even then you'd need to hope the person killed doesn't have Pokemon that would try to avenge his trainer so maybe the answer really is no and people don't do crimes just because of mutually assured destruction.
