Can someone please help me understand why this is a good thing? I've seen this argument a lot and I just don't get it.

Don't be such a petty numbersfag about it. Who cares, they're still cool. And they've gotten small buffs anyway. Tort got shell smash, Empoleon got roost.

The game really starts to feel like a soulless spreadsheet when you're so insistent that everyone's milkshake be made equal. You don't want them rebalancing shit in patches like a fighting game, it'll ruin everything eventually.

It's not just about numbers, Mega Evolution specifically fits with Sinnoh's theme. If any starter trio should get Megas, it should be them.

But the ideas of starters/first partner Pokemon specifically is that they are supposed to be equal. Torterra was my Venusar/Meganium/Sceptile. The starters are meant to be equivalents
