Male trainers will never have the level of customization that female trainers do because men in general, be it real life or video games, just don't have anywhere close to the variety of fashion, be it clothing, hair styles, ways to wear the clothing itself, accessories etc.
That's also why gen 9 was so ass trainer wise. They removed anything that was remotely gender specific from the game for trainers customization for a sweet baby inc paycheck, and the result was the dullest character customization in the series since the transition to 3D
