Every NPC wants to have their own Prequelmemes style revision but the facts remain: Masuda chose Ohmori as his successor. Masuda directed X&Y which were clunky and half baked. Masuda defended dexit, the lack of Battle Frontier and making Baby's first JRPG even easier. The most damning enditement of the "banning Masuda from the directing after XY ruined the series" narrative is the fact that he DID direct a game after XY. And game was that? Something ambitious? Some grand new shake up of the gameplay? Something complex? Something filled to the brim with creativity and post game? No it was this garbage copypaste of 20 year old gameboy game with all the advancements from the games he directed stripped away.
