I'd prefer to have the game physical because I don't see myself playing it often after beating it but it's hard to justify when I can get the digital S2 version for $70 while the physical would cost me $16 more.

Spikes + Infestation really does a lot of tick damage over time. I want to give my Whirlipede Toxic but I think it’s a level up move, though I can just use weepingbel for the toxic. If one gets knocked out I can finish the alpha off with any other Mon.

you need to advance the plot until you unlock subquests, that's when they stop "handholding" you since plenty of the concepts were introduced by that point. More stuff unlocks as you advance the plot. The Battles start to get more fun when you get more moves and alphas start to spawn which will be your main filter for a while. Night battles can be its own kind of fun

i'm a massive PLA fan because i loved liked the sprawling nature and natural pokemon discovery of the game. I like ZA a little less but they kept the spirit mostly alive even if it doesn't feel as magical to me. PLA was the first game where I felt like a child following esoteric rumors to find rare pokemon since RSE.

Why do npcs get cute clothes but everything for the player character is baggy ugly shit? Why do all the crop tops have undershirts, all skirts are skorts, and the only skirt has leggings under it? Is it just because tranny gender neutral shit?

So how much does speed actually affect the cooldown timer? Like 100 spd = 1 sec reduction...?

Also isn't protect basically mandatory on every mon now since you can weave it in easily between attacks?

It's helpful to block super effective moves specifically. You can get away with not running it on bulkier mons (especially if they have some of recovery) but frailer mons definitely appreciate having it.

I'm having a lot of fun. Picked up my copy today and I lost four hours to just playing the game without worrying about efficiency. Exploring the city, trying to cheese wins on a level 27 pidgeot, sneaking up to a teleporting abra without abusing saves, leveling up towards that eventual shiny charm, 100%ing wild areas, and destroying everything in the overworld my moves can interact with.
I feel like a kid again and it's great. Will definitely pick up legends arceus after this if it's anything similar.

Just got to rank F. Trying to make my team all new mega evolutions so I got Pignite, Staryu, and Scolipede locked down. Using the Absol for now until I get more stones, and Victribell may not be kept since its typing is close to Scolipede. 6th slot is a filler slot for dex entries, just evolved a Talonflame then boxed it.

Can I get all the colorful screws now or are some post game? Might grab every toy if I can.

can't assume the damage formula so who knows. in the previous legends game, your attacking stat was basically meaningless, everyone could use physical or special moves without much downsides

no. looking at legends arceus, it took months before the damage formula was actually reverse engineered from the game code. empirically determining it via maths and testing was done much earlier about 3 weeks after release and it more or less lined up with what was eventually reverse engineered

Just got done resetting for around ~1 hour as well, unless I'm really unlucky I think all item trade evos aren't part of the encounter table so those specifically need online.
Non-item trade evos like Gengar/Machamp/Gourgeist did appear though.

It's a lot better than SV but still a modern Gamefreak title. I'd say it's fun enough to be worth playing though.
The combat is like early game Xenoblade before you get any of the deeper mechanics but with Pokemon type advantages instead.

If I wanted to manage time in a video game Id cut on Deadrising, not fucking pokemon. It shouldnt cut to a long ass loading screen to say the obvious and than reset all progress made in a current battle.

Yeah since you can manually switch between day and night anytime anywhere with a bench there's no reason for it to last what feels like 5 minutes, other than to limit you beating like 100 trainers in a battle zone and making a huge bank.

you only get one ball chance, and the small catch rate increase really isnt worth the risk. Now, if the alpha is like 10-20 levels below your team than sure, but those who like the challenge try to catch alphas 10-20 levels above their team.
