I agree, but that didn't stop them from creating stronger version of Groudon and Kyogre when were also just as good in Gen 6 as they were in Gen 3.

I'm currently replaying through all the generations of games in chronological order for fun and XY is even worse than i remember it being

Basically the actual remake, GF didn't want to remake DP and outsourced it while they worked in their actual remake, with another villain who wants to remake the universe, Dialga/Palkia fucking up the timespace, Giratina appearing at the end, etc. Z-A isn't like that, it's not a reimagination of XY, it's a straight up different story. Xerneas and Yveltal will get something when XY gets remade
