While their PS5 game looks better visually than anything else they've ever put out in terms of fidelity, it comparatively looks like a PS4 game. I think what's more pathetic is despite the lack of detail I still think ZA is easily the best looking switch era pokemon game, not because it's visually impressive for the hardware, it's not even close to that. It's just that the bar is truly that low in comparison to gen 8 and 9 and PLA. What probably doesn't help is that the lackluster visuals of ZA look even worse when being fed through dogshit youtube video compression.

They're clearly not working on the graphics for that game themselves, and the game still looked chopped with a bad framerate indicative of the usual GameFreak coding. Little Town Hero is what actually happens when they try to make a game.

plza actually has a decent artstyle, and the buildings are acceptable despite the low quality textures

I forget LGPE even exists, but I guess I should have been more clear that I was referring to Game Freak's switch era of pokemon games specifically and not considering spin-offs from other studios in the discussion.

no because Gamefreak owns around 33% of shares, they would effectively have to buy them out then suffer through the entire process of having to drain the company of bad actors/incompetent devs (which is most of the team) and reform it, for practically no benefit since Pokemon sells like hotcakes regardless of how awful the games are

No good game development company wants to.
They all know what a soul-draining job it is to churn out Pokemon year after year after year, so why take that responsibility over their own dreams when Game Freak is doing just fine shitting out scat and vomit and still profit from it?
