Was 3D pokemon a mistake?
Clearly Game Freak is just fundamentally incapable of developing a 3D game that isn't a bugged out piece of shit with PS2 graphics.

No, anyone who legitimately wants the games to remain 2D has no reasonable answer to how that would work on modern platforms. Literally no one uses sprites outside of a few indies and those indies are all intentionally aping classic games.

The only possible reasonable avenue would be some sort of 2D art focused presentation style, but then how do you apply that to the games in practice? That presentation inherently limits perspectives and, and the games would eternally be top down like the GBA games. And you know what? Maybe that would work if they ever want to do traditional remakes like BDSP but actually make them look good, sure.

Also Legends Z-A and Arceus and particularly buggy. Yes, bugs exist, but no video game is without them.

This is the game where the train started to derail. I was there, I felt the immediate difference. This is where OG Pokémon effectively died. After that, the franchise went on, but it was whole other thing entirely.
